Fourth Grade:
Finding Independence in Learning

The transition from 3rd grade to 4th is one where the students become more independent in their studies and work, and more responsible for themselves.  This year for the first time, students have lockers to store their personal items in.  This gives them a new independence - from learning their combination to keeping their locker neat, when to store items and when items are needed in class.  In reading, we read four or five novels a year and learn many different literacy and grammar skills, as well as learn how to view the world from God’s point of view.
