Second Grade:
Securing the Future through a Love of God and Learning
Second grade is an exciting year of application of skills
acquired in the earlier elementary years. Necessary basic skills in reading (decoding and comprehension), writing, spelling,
and math are taught, emphasized, and reviewed. Reading and historical studies are frequently integrated as we develop a historical
timeline of important events to begin the foundation and understanding of a Christian worldview
Deb Holl
Deb has a bachelor's degree from Indiana University, she has taught pre-school, kindergarten, 3 rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Deb has returned to teaching full-time this year after teaching pre-school and staying home to raise my family. She taught in the children's ministy at her church, Community Church of Columbus for 11 years. Deb has been married to Steve for 15 years, they have three children. They also have a dog named Molly and a cat named Laura. In her spare time Deb enjoys reading, gardening, crafts, cooking, and cheering for her children in their "sport of the moment"!
