Kindergarten at Columbus Christian is a half or full-day
program that meets five days a week. We challenge students to think confidently, solve problems, do their best work, and see
God as the source of all knowledge and wisdom. In addition, we reinforce the core Christian values that you and your church
are teaching your children.
Joyce Acton received her BA in Elementary Education from Purdue University in 1984 and MS in Education from Indiana University in
1987. She has a Life Certification License from the State of Indiana for teaching elementary school. She is also certified
as a Reading Specialist. Joyce has been teaching for 25 years in both public and Christian schools. She has experience
in pre-school, kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th grades. Kindergarten and 1st grade are her favorite grades to teach.
Joyce is married to J.D. and has three boys. She enjoys traveling with her family, football, cooking and walks with her dog.
