Lori Foster has worked at CCS since 2001. Before coming to CCS, Lori worked in the Emergency Department at Columbus Regional Hospital for
10 years. She has her Associate Degree and is the Administrative Assistant to Mrs. Mathis. She and her husband of 15 years
have been blessed with two wonderful sons that both attend CCS.
Administrator and Elementary Principal Amy Mathis attended Taylor University, Pacific Christian College and East Tennessee State University.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education where she majored in Elementary Education, Special Education and Early Childhood Education.
She taught school for 12 years in Johnson City, Tennessee and Indianapolis, Indiana before she was hired by Lighthouse Christian Academy inBloomington, Indiana. She served as the Administrator of Lighthouse for 4 years before being called to Columbus Christian School in
2004. Amy has a passion for Christian Education and changing the hearts of young people to live their God given purpose in and
out of school. Amy’s favorite verse is 3 John 1:4 “I have no greater joy than to hear my children walking in the truth.”
This is her life calling and purpose. Amy and her husband, Dean, have two sons, Luke and Joel David, who also attend Columbus Christian. When Amy is not focused on school she loves spending time with her family, cooking and practicing hospitality, mentoring young women,
hiking, and reading.
High School Administrator Irishe Spurgeon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from Olivet Nazarene University.
She has taught English at a variety of schools both public and private. Irishe has worked at Columbus Christian since 2004.
Currently, she is the Secondary Education Coordinator. Irishe is married to Damon Spurgeon and they have been in youth ministry
since 1997.
Finance Chairman Jon Markland, was involved in the development and founding of CCS in 1976 and his son, Joel, is a graduate.
Jon holds a B.S. in Business from Indiana University. Mr. Markland worked in the industrial field for 20 years and then went
on to found his own business which specialied in Medical and Dental practice management. Mr. Markland became the Business Manager
of East CCC in 2002 after serving many years as a volunteer. In 2004, he joined the CCS staff in the same capacity. Jon
and Judy have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
Tammy Harvey has worked at Columbus Christian School since April 2008 as the Financial Secretary. Before coming to CCS, Tammy
worked at Anderson Christian School in finance. She and her husband have been married 20 years and have 3 wonderful sons.
Tammy and her family are very involved in the athletics at the school
Dixie Yeley has been secretary for East Columbus Christian Church/Columbus Christian School for 31 years and has been a member of
East Columbus Christian Church for 57 years. She attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary for 1 ½ yrs getting training
in Church Secretarial work. Dixie is married to Eddie Yeley and they will celebrate their 47th anniversary in 2009. They
have three children, Craig, Steve and Shari and 7 wonderful grandchildren that keep them very busy.
